About Friends of WCAC
MISSION
Our mission is to promote quality of life for all animals and the humans who care about them by supporting a compassionate environment and humane treatment for the animals of Williamson County and to advocate for animals throughout our region. We are committed to maintaining a best-in-class Animal Center and a community where animals are valued and live in harmony with an enlightened and responsive government and citizenry.
Our mission focuses on three general areas:
Provide support to Williamson County Animal CenterIncrease awareness and educate the community regarding animal welfare support policies that provide for compassionate treatment of animals and educate community leaders and state and local officials regarding animal welfare initiatives and best practices
Williamson County is recognized as a progressive community where animals are valued and live in harmony with humans. This is achieved through the enlightened support and responsiveness of both its citizens and its government. Our Animal Center program is the best-in-class and known throughout the state and the nation as a model for its high save rate, proactive programs, and exemplary staff and animal care.
What We Do
CONTINUOUS SUPPORT OF WILLIAMSON COUNTY ANIMAL CENTER
Friends collaborates with WCAC daily so we can understand and meet the needs of our communities’ animals in real time. We are blessed to be able to provide financial support and volunteer time that helps to ensure WCAC remains a best in class animal shelter and a place where animals are valued and loved.
Extraordinary Medical and Behavioral Assistance.
Dogs Playing for Life to ensure dogs in our care are happy and given the best training available to transition seamlessly from our shelter to their new home.
Cat enrichment elements and programs.
Pet Food Bank provides food for at-risk dogs and cats by collaborating with Mars Petcare, local food pantries that distribute the pet food in Williamson, Rutherford, and Perry counties.
Microchip and rabies clinic for community and shelter animals.
Friends of Williamson County Animal Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of animals in Williamson County, Tennessee
How to Participate and be Featured in
"Tails of Franklin"
Tails of Franklin will feature fur babies from the surrounding area. We are looking for dogs and cats. We will choose areas to photograph around Franklin to use the rich history and beauty for the background of your portrait. If your fur babies are more comfortable in their own home or in our studio that will certainly be an option.
To be considered for the book click the Apply Now button below and complete the application. Once we have received and reviewed your application we will be in touch over the phone to learn more about your fur babies and answer any additional questions you may have about the project.
There will be a $150 participation fee for each pet family selected to be featured which will include a full-page spread in the book. 100% of the participation fees for the book will be donated to Friends of WCAC to meet the needs of our communities’ animals.

On your phone call, we will discuss the photo session process and help you be completely prepared for a great experience! From this call, our team will let you know if you are chosen for the book project.
Session Date
After you are chosen for our Tails of Franklin Coffee Table Book, we will work together to find the best location, date and time that works for your fur baby! These special sessions will be held Monday through Friday. Get ready for a fun experience!

Hey, we are Bruce and Misty Westebbe!
Together, 13 years ago, we started our photography studio in lovely Franklin Tn. We have focused on families and all the photography needs that surround that.
In 2024 we decided to start photographing pets and have fell in love with this new addition.
Misty is the photographer and Bruce is the man behind the curtain building new sets and keeping everything going.
Our household is the hustle and bustle of running a business and taking care of our 3 dogs! As grandparents and as a dog family we can relate to so many stages of life and we use that to create the best experience for you and your family.

Question 1: When do I pay application fee?
Once you are chosen for the book we will take your application fee.
Question 2: I have multiple pets, how does that work?
You will pay one fee per family and have one spread in the book.
Question 3: What photo goes in the book?
We will choose the photos to be used together after your portrait experience. This will include one of each pet and one of your pet and family members together.
Question 4: How do I get a copy of the book?
We will be offering pre-sales of Tails of Franklin coffee table book for around $135 (final price details are being confirmed with the publisher) when you come in to select your photographs. The fee covers the production of this beautiful book, and all profits will be donated to Friends of WCAC
Question 5: What if I want to display my portraits on my wall?
We are a full-service portrait studio dedicated to creating beautiful, finished photographic artwork that’s ready to hang. Our team will guide you through selecting your favorite images and designing a custom piece that perfectly complements your home.
Question 6: What about digital images?
While we live in a digital age, we believe in the value of both timeless prints and modern sharing. That’s why with every purchased portrait, we provide a digital version as well—allowing you to easily share your beautiful images on social media or with loved ones near and far.
