100% of every session fee is donated directly to Friends of MACC and is tax deductible.

Every session helps support Friends of MACC to care for homeless pets in Nashville.
Portraits are captured around iconic Music City locations, and participants
become part of the annual coffee table book project.

Tails of Music City was created to celebrate the extraordinary connection between people and their pets through artistic portraits captured throughout the heart of Nashville.
From skyline views and artistic murals to historic streets and iconic city textures, each session is designed to feel emotional, personal, and uniquely connected to Music City.
These portraits are about more than beautiful images. They are about preserving connection, personality, and the moments that make the bond between people and their pets so meaningful.
Locations are carefully selected based on your pet’s personality, comfort level, and the visual style of your session.
Every session directly supports homeless animals in Nashville through Friends of MACC.
Inspired by the success of past charitable portrait projects, Tails of Music City combines storytelling,
artistic portraiture, and community impact to help animals still waiting for their forever homes.

Friends of MACC is a group of volunteers that wants to help MACC care for more than 4,000 homeless animals that come to the shelter each year. MACC is a community resource – they are the only shelter in Nashville that takes in strays – so we want our community to get involved. Our goal is to bring more funding to MACC so we can better support the shelter in caring for our homeless animals.
Friends of MACC supports MACC’s efforts in helping homeless animals become the amazing pets they were born to be. We want to get the community involved in our community shelter, too!
MACC's community programs:
Bow Wow Breakouts: Take a pup out for the day (or two) for some fun, hiking, snuggling, and love.
Low-Cost Rabies Clinics: $26 rabies shots;
Low-Cost Microchip Clinics: $10 microchips
Safety Net Program: Provides support to families needing assistance with caring for their pets.
Free Ride Home: Lost pets picked up by an Animal Control Officer (ACO) with proper ID, tags, and microchips get a lift back home at no cost.

Most people are not professional models, and most pets are not trained for photoshoots — which is why every session is fully guided from start to finish in a relaxed and connection-focused way.
From helping with location and styling choices to guiding movement, interaction, and natural connection during the session, the experience is designed to feel comfortable, easy, and personal for both people and pets.
Whether your pet is energetic, shy, curious, treat-motivated, or completely unpredictable, each session is approached with patience, flexibility, and an understanding that every animal has their own personality and rhythm.
The goal is to create portraits that feel emotional, authentic, and beautifully connected to the relationship you share with your pet.
With over 20 years of portrait experience, Misty intentionally guides each session while paying close attention to the details that transform meaningful moments into artwork designed to be treasured for years to come.
You will pay one fee per family and have one spread in the book.
We will choose the photos to be used together after your portrait experience. This will include one of each pet and one of your pet and family members together.
We will be offering pre-sales of Tails of Music City coffee table book for around $135 (final price details are being confirmed with the publisher) when you come in to select your photographs. The fee covers the production of this beautiful book, and all profits will be donated to Friends of MACC
We are a full-service portrait studio dedicated to creating beautiful, finished photographic artwork that’s ready to hang. Our team will guide you through selecting your favorite images and designing a custom piece that perfectly complements your home.
While we live in a digital age, we believe in the value of both timeless prints and modern sharing. That’s why with every purchased portrait, we provide a digital version as well—allowing you to easily share your beautiful images on social media or with loved ones near and far.
If your pet is part of your story — they belong in this book.
Let’s create something meaningful together.
